Antibiotic-Dietary Supplement Combo Improves Cognition in Mouse Dementia Models
Scientists at Osaka City University Graduate School of Medicine demonstrated that intranasal delivery of a fixed-dose combination of the inexpensive generic antibiotic drug rifampicin, with the widely-used dietary supplement, resveratrol, could represent a feasible approach to preventing neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease. A start-up company has been set up to prepare for global clinical trials.
