Summary:

Henri D. Grissino-Mayer, Ph.D., of the University of Tennessee is passionate about the science of tree rings (the technical term for which is dendrochronology). With his The Science of Tree Rings website, Dr. Grissino-Mayer hopes to deliver the “ULTIMATE source for information” on this topic (emphasis his). Indeed, there is a large amount of information on the website, and it can be difficult to know where to begin. The navigation toolbar is located along the left side of the page, directing visitors to sections of the website such as “laboratories”, “principles”, and “databases”, among many others. (Overall there are 14 different content sections on the site.) With the large amount of content and list of links, visitors can easily spend a long time (maybe even a few tree rings’ worth) exploring this website.
