Rating:
Strong Points: Broad ranging information
Weak Points: A bit scattered
Summary:
When it comes to “techie” sounding names, it doesn’t get much better than the MGH-PGA Parabiosys system whose subtitle is Parallel Biological Systems. Wow! What does that entail? Obviously, this could cover a lot of ground and the site makes no attempt to expand beyond the scope of the research projects it covers. Some of these include host-pathogen interactions, stress pathway signal transduction, and macrophage activation. Other topics covered on the site include protein networks/RNA display, bacterial pathogen resources, and software tools developed in the project. There is a section devoted to education and enough pieces of miscellany (including PowerPoint presentations, online analysis of sequences, and generous policies on data sharing) to make the site worth a good look.
