GEN Chat: Complete Genomics’ Rade Drmanac Talks NGS Then and Now

As one of the early pioneers of next-gen sequencing (NGS) technology, Dr. Radoje (Rade) Drmanac is responsible for some of its most successful inventions. His storied career includes the development of efficient whole-genome sequencing and the DNA NanoBalls sequencing technology (DNBSEQ) – utilized by the companies MGI and Complete Genomics, of which Rade is a Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer.

In this inaugural GEN chat webinar, Rade sat down with Dr. Julianna LeMieux (Deputy Editor in Chief, GEN) for a candid conversation about all things NGS. They discussed recent improvements to NGS technology, how the latest generation of instruments are enabling rapid genome sequencing on a large scale, and the technology’s exciting potential in research and clinical settings.
