Caliper Life Sciences (www.caliperLS.com) recently created a custom system for Boehringer Ingelheim (www.boehringer-ingelheim.com) that automates aspects of Baculovirus expression. To develop the system for Boehringer Ingelheim, Caliper worked directly with Boehringer researchers to understand the company’s specific needs for each step of the Baculovirus expression process. Caliper then integrated its Sciclone® liquid handler along with technology from third-party vendors to create Staccato®, a laboratory system that is reliable, effective, and individualized, according to the companies.
