When discussing challenges in gene therapy, delivery of the genetic payload is always at the top of the list. Whether discussing viral or nonviral gene delivery, challenges are present in every aspect of the process: increasing efficiency, decreasing immunogenicity and off-target effects, manufacturing, scale, etc. Researchers are working hard to clear these hurdles to improve gene delivery and, in turn, revolutionize precision and safety in genetic medicine.

On this episode of GEN Live, we’ll talk to experts in delivery with a focus on AAV vectors. We’ll discuss the successes the field has experienced, the challenges that remain, new technologies that may improve capsid engineering, and how researchers are thinking about the next wave of gene delivery. And at the end of the hour-long discussion, we will have a deeper understanding of the roadblocks that stand in the way of delivery, and perhaps a better idea of how to solve them.

A live Q&A session followed the presentation, offering a chance to pose questions to our expert panelists.
