Strong Points: Well organized, many different tools available with detailed descriptions.
Weak Points: None
The Blue Brain Project Portal expanded quite a bit since it was last written about in this column, and is well worth revisiting. Previously, the website served mostly to describe the
overall goals of the project, which aims to fully reconstruct and simulate the mammalian brain. Now, the project’s website includes the fruits of these labors, including numerous resources available for neuroscientists to use. Among these resources are neuronal models built by the project, numerous software packages that aid with data acquisition, analysis, and visualization, and online tools such as a brain cell atlas and a neurorobotics platform. The website also includes many of the datasets generated by the project and an online learning section that details the methods and significance of the project.
