Citizen Science is here to tell you that you don’t need a PhD to advance scientific progress and contribute to new discoveries. Citizen Science, a division of the U.S. General Services Administration, provides a catalog on the website of ongoing studies seeking contributions from nonscientists. The catalog allows users to browse through open studies, read more about what the goals of each study are, and proceed to the studies’ websites for more information on how to contribute. For researchers, the website provides an entire tool kit that goes over the basics of starting and advertising your own citizen-powered study. The toolkit includes a step-by-step guide to planning and maintaining your research project, case studies of completed citizen science projects, and an extensive page of additional resources.
