Deal covers Oragene•DNA kits for the collection, stabilization, transportation, and preparation of DNA from saliva.
DNA Genotek signed an agreement giving exclusive distribution rights for its Oragene®•DNA family of products in Spain to Abyntek Biopharma, a unit of Progenika that is focused mainly on the development of new technologies to produce mAbs.
Abyntek will offer DNA Genotek’s complete line of Oragene•DNA collection kits for the collection, stabilization, transportation, and preparation of DNA from saliva for customers in Spain. Oragene•DNA is designed to enable easy, reliable, and cost effective collection of samples from large numbers of individuals while providing high-quality DNA.
“We see growing demand for our products for research, clinical applications, companion diagnostics, and personalized medicine, and this agreement provides an ideal addition to our ability to serve existing and new customers in this market,” says Brian Smith, vp, sales, for DNA Genotek.
DNA Genotek products are in use at research universities that include Harvard, Stanford, Cambridge, and Johns Hopkins. The company also offers a family of products for collecting DNA from animals and livestock.
