Strong Points: Different informational resources, lots of content
Weak Points: Some content specific to company’s products

Summary:

With its qPCR Design Lab website, Biosearch Technologies has provided a beautiful web resource that includes a great deal of useful information for scientists. The website includes a brief history of the PCR technique (with a special emphasis on products sold by Biosearch Technologies), as well as a “toolbox” page that includes a number of simple calculators for your oligos. These include an oligo resuspension calculator, a dilution calculator, and a calculator to determine the molecular weight and extinction coefficient of your oligos. One of the best aspects of the website is the large collection of qPCR citations (with links to the articles themselves). The citations are color coded for quick browsing into four categories: posters, citations, technical application notes, and product information. Whether you are new to quantitative PCR (qPCR) experiments or are a well-seasoned qPCR veteran, you will certainly find something of use on this website.
