Farfield Scientific Limited (www.farfield-scientific.com) and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Monash University (www.med.monash.edu.au/biochem/) will jointly create a series of biosensor surfaces that will be used to establish a new approach to the structural analysis of membrane protein function. “We propose to develop a new range of sensor chips with specifically designed and characterized phospholipid surfaces using patented Monash technology,” states Marie-Isabel Aguilar, associate professor, leading the project at Monash. “We will analyze the structure of the different membrane surfaces using high-resolution and information-rich measurements from our Farfield AnaLight® Bio200 Dual Polarisation Interferometry instrument. We will then apply these sensor chips to the analysis of a range of peptide and protein membrane processes.”
