Researchers Unravel Link between Aggressive Prostate Cancer and Mutation in TP53
The TP53 gene provides instructions for making a protein called tumor protein p53 (or p53). Now, a recent study demonstrates men who have mutations in this gene have a high risk of developing aggressive prostate cancer. Their findings suggest men undergoing cancer-risk genetic testing should be checked for mutations in this gene as well.
