The results of studies by University of Florida (UF) scientists have for the first time made the link between specific bacterial species and the physical manifestations of neurodegenerative diseases. Their results point to the potential to use specific types of bacteria as preventative and treatment strategies against disorders characterized by protein misfolding and aggregation.
