Ferroptosis is becoming a powerful weapon against cancer. Now researchers at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center have discovered the mitochondrial enzyme DHODH plays a role in blocking ferroptosis. Their preclinical study demonstrates that targeting the mitochondrial enzyme can induce ferroptosis and inhibit tumor growth.
