Current approaches for assessing critical quality attributes (CQAs) for adeno-associated virus (AAV) characterization can be both time- and sample-consuming. The industry needs analytical methods with rapid turnaround, high-throughput, and low volume sample requirements. Stunner steps up to meet this need by combining rapid, low-volume UV–Vis spectroscopy, static light scattering, and dynamic light scattering to deliver titer, empty/full, size, and aggregation data on up to 96 samples in an hour, using 2 µL per sample.

In this GEN webinar, we’ll examine data generated from Stunner from multiple AAV samples generated from at-scale manufacturing campaigns at Vigene Biosciences (now a Charles River Laboratories company). We demonstrate how Stunner is used for rapid and low-volume AAV gene therapy vector quantification, characterization, and quality assessment. The data generated can be used to monitor sample quality in near real-time while more resource-intensive assays are being performed. Case studies will look at multiple serotypes, purification strategies, a range of titers, and how Stunner stacks up against other techniques. We’ll also discuss promising applications of how the optical product characteristics generated by Stunner can be useful throughout the entire development and manufacturing pathway.
