NIH has renewed its licensing agreement with Biobase for another five years. The contract provides all 27 NIH institutions with locally installed access to the Biobase Knowledge Library™, which includes Transfac® and Proteome® databases. NIH researchers also have access to the ExPlain™ Analysis System, software that facilitates the analysis of large-scale data sets generated by DNA microarrays, proteomics, ChIP-on-chip, and Chip-Seq experiments.
NIH to Use Biobase Databases and Analysis Systems for Five More Years
3D reconstruction show how high systolic blood pressure has affected the main tracts of white matter in the brain. The red shows the areas most affected by high blood pressure while the yellow areas are also affected but to a lesser extent. The study shows that high systolic blood pressure causes damage to the white matter and its connections with other parts of the brain and this is linked to worse cognitive functions in the people analysed. For the first time, specific brain areas which are the culprit of this disease are identified. [Dr Lorenzo Carnevale, IRCCS INM Neuromed, Pozzilli, Italy]
