Given the success of Dendreon’s and Biovest’s cancer vaccines in late-stage trials, some believe that the promise of personalized therapy in cancer is around the corner. Yet we’re also seeing other similar vaccines fail in Phase III studies. Manufacturing issues and the high cost of producing such therapies are some of the barriers that have been holding the field back.
