Denator signed an agreement under which Westburg will become the sole distributor of the company’s Stabilizor® technology and accessories in the Benelux region. The system uses heat-inactivation technology to stabilize tissue samples at the moment of sampling and to preserve sample components in their in vivo state.
Denator says many of its current clients have used the system to discover new proteins and peptides and increase the reproducibility of their protein-analysis workflows. The agreement is part of Denator’s effort to expand its distributor network in what it considers strategically important regions including Benelux, Japan, Switzerland, and the U.K. The company, which sells its products directly in the U.S., reported deals with distributors covering Japan and Switzerland last year and in the U.K. and Ireland in 2009.
Denator introduced the Stabilizor system in 2008 and last November obtained SEK 12 million (about $1.8 million) in a fifth financing round intended to fund global marketing and sales activities and focus development of its product portfolio in key markets.
