High-Efficiency Multiplexed Gene Editing for Bioproduction Applications

Originally Aired: March 31, 2022
Time: 8:00 am PT, 11:00 am ET, 1700 CET

Gene editing tools such as the CRISPR-Cas9 system have gained traction over the last few years in the bioproduction space, where they have been used to genetically enhance capabilities in host cells routinely used in the industry, including Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO), or Human Embryonic Kidney (HEK) cells, amongst others. However, a lack of well-defined gene editing pipelines and workflows means that executing complex gene editing projects successfully and accurately remains a challenge.

This GEN webinar will show data from multiple gene-editing projects where the gene(s) of interest have been successfully targeted with high efficiency, irrespective of the gene copy number. Importantly, we will also learn about a successful collaboration between Horizon Discovery and Cergentis that saw the development and implementation of a strategy for multiplex gene editing with high efficiencies, where four different loci are targeted simultaneously—validation of which was done by using targeted locus amplification in several of the clones generated, to identify all the genetic outcomes from the gene-editing events.

A live Q&A session followed the presentations, offering a chance to pose questions to our expert panelists.
