Summary:

Physicians, medical students, and those interested in a career in medicine can practice their diagnostic skills with the Ward Round app, which tests users’ medical knowledge under time pressure. The app includes 161 medical scenarios, each of which begins with a short blurb about the patient’s presenting symptoms and is followed by a series of questions that cover the differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, and treatment. App users are not given much time to answer each question; it’s pretty rapid-fire. An explanation of the correct answer is provided following each question, and these answers can be reviewed upon completion of the scenario. Importantly, primary literature citations are provided for each answer. The scenarios included within the app cover nine medical specialties including neurology, endocrinology, and infectious disease.
