Summary:

Do you know a back-pressure regulator from a macroporous resin? If you’re new to chromatography, the Chromatography and Sample Preparation Terminology Guide is a nice, simple resource to quickly acquaint you with the lingo of the technique. The app presents a very straightforward glossary of terms arranged in alphabetical order, with the option to jump to specific letters from the right-hand side of the screen. A search function is also available. Be warned that some of the definitions are more illuminating than others. (For example, the entry for capillary micellar electrochromatography simply reads, “The CEC version of MEKC.”) However, for many of the terms it’s still a convenient reference to have handy on your phone or mobile device.
