Summary:

While molarity and dilution calculators are easy to find in the app store, calculators for filtration and chromatography experiments are more rare. SpectrumLabs.com is a major vendor of products for such types of experiments, and the company’s Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) Calculator app provides three calculators that could be of use to researchers. With the water flux calculator, for example, users enter values for the area, transmembrane pressure, permeate rate, and temperature of the column system. The app, in turn, calculates the water flux, temperature correction faction, and water permeability. The other calculators in the app let the user determine the shear rate and process time/permeate rate for their experimental systems. While the calculators are generally useful to anyone (even people not using SpectrumLabs.com products), customers of SpectrumLabs.com can also take advantage of the part number search, which displays the specifications for particular SpectrumLabs.com products.
