Strong Points: Supports thousands of citation styles, good annotation tools
Weak Points: None
Anyone who’s ever spent time manually typing citations will be thrilled with RefME, a very handy app that makes citations a breeze…or rather, a snap, as one of the features of the app is the ability to generate a citation from a photo of a book’s barcode taken by the camera on the device. The app supports over 7,000 citation styles, which can easily be changed/updated at any time. For organization’s sake, users can create and add citations to individual projects, which are all displayed on the home screen. Another nice feature is the ability to add specific quotes or annotations to the citations, which is especially useful if working with a team. (You can invite team members to join your projects.) Citations can be accessed from the RefME website—where they’re ready to be inserted directly into text documents—or they can be exported to email or Evernote from within the app.
