Humidification and Controlled Gas Composition

The combination of FlowCon and AerationSystem from Kuhner was designed to enable the user to run shake flask cultivations in non-humidified and non-CO2-controlled incubator shakers. The FlowCon provides gas composition and flow rate. Simultaneously, the AerationSystem humidifies and distributes the gas flow to the connected shake flasks to prevent high evaporation losses and stabilize the pH of the media. The company claims this control of gas compositions allows for various applications, including stem cell processes that require physiological oxygen concentration at 5% O2 or anaerobic cultivations in a nitrogen atmosphere.
