In celebration of GEN’s 40th year in publishing, GEN Live will feature a panel of biotech reporters and scientists who have been covering the bioindustry since the early 1980s. Moreover, each wrote some of their initial biotech articles for GEN just as the industry, and GEN, was taking off.
Personal recollections, how each handled breaking news from a nascent industry that was reporting major scientific advances on a daily basis, interacting with the “stars” of biotech, tapping into the mood of a young industry, and trying to get a handle on the numerous predictions of the where the industry might be headed—these will be a just few of the topics we will talk about in this can’t miss GEN Live session.
The GEN Live panel included:
John Sterling, the Editor-in-Chief of GEN
Fred Gebhart, one of GEN’s first reporters covering the early evolution of the bioindustry in human health and agriculture.
Matthew Heil, PhD, wrote for GEN describing these novel scientific discoveries from the perspective of someone on biotech’s front lines.
Mary Jean Pramik is a professional medical and science writer with over 30 years’ experience in the biopharm and biotech arenas. In the 1980s Mary Jean wrote regular feature on new and emerging biotech.
