Strong Points: Nicely organized, quick reference
Weak Points: Not great depth of information
Any medical student who has taken neuroanatomy knows that memorizing the cranial nerves, their functions, and the corresponding diagnostic tests is no easy feat. The Cranial Nerves app provides a simple resource that provides a brief summary for each nerve. The summary contains the nerve type (sensory and/or motor), a brief description of its function, the trajectory of the nerve tract, diagnostic tests for function, and symptoms of nerve damage. Images are also provided. Each image contains a few areas users can tap to display the corresponding anatomical labels. The app does not include very detailed information, but for app users seeking further clarification or additional resources it also offers links to the Google and Wikipedia pages for each nerve.
