Though limited to a predefined collection of secondary news sources, the BrainSights app provides a convenient way to stay up-to-date on brain-related news. News articles are collated from thirty-eight sources that span general news outlets, neuroscience, and psychology. App users can choose to hide articles from particular sources, but unfortunately, cannot customize the list by adding other sources. However, easy access to podcasts, Twitter, and Reddit provide additional variety in the material found at one’s fingertips, and the Twitter newsfeed content can be customized via user-defined keywords. App users can quickly browse recent news stories from the home screen and can save specific stories for later. Overall, the app offers a nice collection of brain-related material, though it could be further improved by offering additional customization options.
