Rating:
Strong Points: Educational information
Weak Points: Cluttered, wordy

Summary:
Focused on chemistry education, Welcome to Chemistry is in the News Website (WCNW), is an informative site that unfortunately, like its title, is a bit long in the tooth in places. On the plus side, there is an informative collection of news items, a hyperlinked set of student projects, and a set of online assignments that can be downloaded. Students and faculty can each obtain logins. On the downside, WCNW has too many links on the left panel of the page that don’t really lead to anything meaningful. For example, the Taxonomy of Authentic News Media Based Learning Activities has no taxonomic information, but instead, is a table of unlinked, information, as best I can tell. Someone needs to tighten this up–fewer words, fewer links, better hierarchy.
