Summary:

With regards to science, there is a lot of misinformation out there. Sense About Science is a London-based charity organization that seeks to fight scientific misinformation both by appealing to the general public to ask for evidence and analyze sources of information and by appealing to scientists to more explicitly discuss evidence and the implications of particularly controversial research. There is a great deal of useful information on the Sense About Science website, including blog posts and publications related to misconceptions across a wide range of topics such as agriculture, alternative medicine, food additives, energy, and neuroscience, among others. Care is also taken to discuss general topics like statistics, uncertainty, and peer review. Site visitors can learn more about the organization’s efforts and even pose questions to be answered by scientists on the organization’s website.
