Summary:
The extent of my knowledge of atomic nuclei and nuclear chemistry is pretty much bounded by the knowledge of isotopes, half-lives, and decay particles I obtained in freshman chemistry. It is therefore with trepidation that I wade into the vast waters of the National Nuclear Data Center. Organized at the Brookhaven National Laboratory as an extensive set of links to all things nuclear, the site points visitors to nuclear structure/decay databases, nuclear reaction databases/tools, bibliography collections, data sheets, cleverly designed Nuclear Wallet Cards organized by element, and an extensive array of references, and data (some unevaluated). How’s that for thinking or swimming?
