Strong Points: Large volume of info
Weak Points: Registration Required
What to do about global warming, habitat destruction, and the rapidly diminishing species diversity on Earth? Like every other problem facing us, the first step is to educate, and that is the approach taken by the excellent ESA EcoEdNet page. Information is organized at the site in eight broad categories: Biodiversity, Evolution, Ecology/Technology/ Policy, Ecology as Science, Energy Transfer, Continuity and Change, Regulation, and Interactions. Access to information at the site is restricted to registered users (free), which is rather unfortunate. I recognize that registration provides some control, and that registration information is valuable and thus can help pay the expenses of a site, but the information here would seem to be so important that free and easy access to all should be considered.
