If you’re looking for a visually captivating and interactive overview of basic brain anatomy, look no further than BrainExplain, created by Tennessee Tech. The app provides users with 3D overviews of the human brain, from the hemispheric level right down the cellular level. Users can choose which specific brain region they want to browse through, such as the limbic system or the cerebral cortex. Each region is illustrated in 3D, allowing users to twist and turn the image to get a better feel for what the region looks like as part of the whole brain. Users can also learn more information about each component of a specific area—for example, when looking at the limbic system, users can click on particular subregions to learn more about the function of the amygdala. BrainExplain provides fairly limited explanations of each brain area, but the detailed 3D images provide an excellent overview of basic human brain anatomy.
