Acquisition will support firm’s future growth in Western Europe.
VWR International has purchased Omnilab, a Swiss scientific laboratory supply distributor headquartered near Zurich. Ominlab was founded in 1990 and is one of Switzerland’s largest independent suppliers of laboratory equipment and consumables.
Omnilab’s core business of supplying instrumentation, consumables, and services complements VWR’s expertise in chemicals, consumables, and life science products. “OMNILAB has the portfolio of products and customer focused services to support VWR’s further growth in Western Europe,” according to Manuel Brocke-Benz, VWR senior vp and managing director of European operations. “This acquisition delivers benefits to both our customers and suppliers by providing an expanded range of products and services to the scientific community in Switzerland.”
