The severe recession that has impacted the global business community over the past year is affecting the biotech industry worldwide as well. While funding has always been the number one financial consideration for life science companies, some biotech observers believe that the length and depth of this particular recession is going to change the very structure of the bioindustry. What do you view as the most likely scenario for biotech?

Poll Question:
How do you think the current financial crisis will affect the biotech industry?

A significant number of companies will simply go out of business.

There will be a great deal of consolidation as many companies merge or are taken over.

The bioindustry will ride this recession out as it has in the past and will pretty much look the same as it does now over the next five years or so.
