Expression Analysis has been contracted to provide microarray expression-profiling services to The Immunological Genome Project. The firm will participate in the generation of a complete microarray dissection of gene expression in the immune system of the mouse.
The focus will be on primary cells ex vivo. The cells will be analyzed through different states of maturation, innate or adaptive immune responses, effector stages, and different tissue localization.
Expression Analysis is expected to process thousands of mouse specimens over the next couple years. The company reports that it has the capacity to process over 80,000 arrays per year on the Affymetrix and Illumina platforms and the additional capacity of the Heliscope next-generation DNA sequencer technology.
