Distribution deal for MIP separation products strengthens Sigma Aldrich’s Supelco brand.

Supelco will distribute MIP Technologies’ analytical and preparative Molecularly Imprinted Polymer (MIP) separation products, under an exclusive global distribution agreement. The companies will also collaborate on the development of new products, while MIP Technologies will continue to separately develop its process-scale separations business.

These products contain MIP particles produced by MIP Technologies. MIPs are solid-phase polymer materials manufactured with specific affinity for single compounds or classes of compounds.  Currently available MIP products include SPE cartridges for specific analysis of chloramphenicol, tobacco nitrosamine derivatives, triazines, clenbuterol, and other beta-agonists, beta-blockers, and beta-receptors.

The application of MIP SPE cartridges enables straightforward sample preparation for trace analysis from complex matrices like milk, meat, or urine, resulting in reduced analysis time and costs, increased sensitivity, and improved detection when compared to conventional methods, according to the companies.
