Millipore’s Mobius suite of single-use products will be used.
Millipore and Applikon Biotechnology will codevelop and distribute disposable bioreactor systems for biopharmaceutical applications. The agreement combines Millipore’s background in disposables and Applikon’s in bioreactor systems.
“Our collaboration with Applikon Biotechnology will close an important gap in our disposable product offering and strengthens our position in upstream process development,” notes Andrew Bulpin, vp of Millipore’s upstream processing business unit. “The combination of Applikon’s experience in controllers and bioreactors together with Millipore’s global scale and expertise in downstream bioprocessing will enable us to offer one of the industry’s most compelling disposable solutions.”
Applikon has a portfolio of measurement and control instrumentation as well as reusable bioreactors. The partnership thus will leverage this expertise along with Millipore’s Mobius® suite of disposable technologies. These include filtration products, process containers, mixers, connectors, and valves.
