IonGate Biosciences (www.iongate.de) and LIVC Technologies are working together to develop and market the latter company’s tools. Light induced voltage clamp, or LIVC, reportedly can initiate and measure voltage activated ion channels via light induction.
LIVC technology allows high-throughput screening of voltage activated ion channels without any loss of time or information, according to the companies. They expect this instrument to improve research methods in the biopharmaceutical industry for finding new or optimizing existing compounds that act directly on the voltage activated ion channels.
