Lumiphore ( will incorporate its Lumi4™ complexes into Cisbio ( assays, under an exclusive partnership. Lumi4 complexes are a class of fluorescent lanthanide detection reagents. They reportedly have long emission lifetimes and higher signal-to-noise ratio than existing fluorophores. The technology will be applied to Cisbio’s current and future R&D initiatives in TR-FRET-based (time-resolved fluorescence resonance energy transfer) assays for drug discovery. Lumi4 compounds brings good photophysical properties, increased sensitivity, and stability to TR-FRET assays for high-throughput screening, according to Cisbio. The incorporation of these compounds into Cisbio’s HTRF® technology reportedly could enable a second generation of assay platforms, particularly in the fields of GPCR and kinase screening.
