Chugai refuted a Bloomberg News story that reported that Roche was ready to pay $10 billion to take over the Japan-based firm. According to Chugai, “This report is not based on any announcement made by Chugai or Roche. Chugai is in no way in the process of reviewing any plan to become a wholly owned subsidiary of Roche, nor discussing with Roche about such a transaction.”
Chugai officials added that “Roche, as usual, is not commenting on any market rumors.”
