Mixing is an integral part of biomanufacturing. Mixer equipment is needed for numerous operations such as dissolving solids and powders (media and buffer preparation), low pH adjustment (viral inactivation), resuspension, concentration (downstream intermediates), excipient preparation, and addition to drug product for final formulation. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a simulation tool that uses powerful computers and applied mathematics to model fluid flow situations for predicting heat, mass, and momentum transfer and optimizes design in industrial processes. For biopharmaceutical applications, CFD provides a fundamental, process-specific understanding of shear-sensitive molecules and biphasic mixtures, such as vortex formation, and permits the characterization of hydrodynamics in mixing vessels.

This GEN webinar will review CFD definitions and analysis applied to the Flexsafe® Pro Mixer. Moreover, we will learn how CFD can be applied to your bioproduction workflows to save valuable time and improve product quality and yields. Finally, we will hear about expert services provided by Sartorius that are designed to help navigate through even the toughest of bioprocessing challenges.

A live Q&A session will follow the presentation, offering you a chance to pose questions to our expert panelists.
