GEN Presents a Trio of Papers from the Genome Writers Guild Conference
The recently launched genome engineering society, The Genome Writers Guild, held its first conference in July 2017 at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Entitled “Realizing the Future: Genome Engineering 2017,” the meeting drew more than 200 attendees, who gathered to learn about the latest advances in the genome-editing field, with a specific focus on developments in CRISPR.
GEN put together this special genome-engineering section of the magazine to highlight a number of key presentations at the conference, along with news and analysis of important commercial technical developments related to CRISPR. There is also an interview with David Brin, scientist, science-fiction writer, and inventor, who discussed what researchers can expect to see covered in future genome-editing research.
