Rating:
Strong Points: Great educational content
Weak Points: Needs a little better organization

Summary:
Ok, the opening page is not exactly beautiful or even ideally organized. The same could probably be said for the organism about which all of this effort has been made–fungi. Tom Volk is a biology professor at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse who seems to have a bit of sense of humor about his subject, if the photos on the opening page are any indication. Pictured standing next to an artificially giant mushroom, Tom organizes a lot of links in a circle around his picture. These range from fungi images and special topic to the fungus of the month. Everything is done with a light touch, which is not to imply that the treatment is at all light. Instead, the pages are quite informative and drive home the point that the most effective education approach is not always “in your face.”
