Admittedly, the first thought that crossed my mind when I encountered this site was that this organization hit the URL jackpot. (Just imagine how many groups probably vied for the web address “nature.org.”) So just who lucked out in the name game? The answer is the people of The Nature Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to…well…conserve nature. By visiting this site, you can learn all about their efforts. For instance, take a moment to get to know the Nature Conservancy scientists and read scientific reports from the organization. These cover such topics as “Why is discovering a California frog with a penis good news for conservation?” and “Is it still OK to eat oysters?” Additionally, you can read up on the organization’s initiatives and browse The Nature Conservancy Magazine. Especially stunning is the photography page—after viewing just a few photos, you’ll understand what exactly we need to work together to preserve.
