Summary:
We’ve all used the Internet to look up recipes or learn how to fix something around the house, so why not use it to become more scholarly? In this era of technological influx, perhaps you already have done so, streaming podcasts on your computer, mp3 player, phone, and, I don’t know…graphing calculator? (It’s only a matter of time…) Yet, you may not have found a resource like The Do It Yourself Scholar, which compiles the best podcasts across numerous fields of study. In addition to a great variety of interesting science podcasts, including “Quantum physics made relatively simple” and “Neurobiology of sex: the birds, the bees, baboons and us.” There are also a large number of non-science auditory morsels. (Hey, we’re not all one-dimensional science nerds, are we?) With links to the “best free courses and lectures” and “favorite academic blogs,” you’re sure to find something that will both entertain and educate.
