Summary:
Call me a soft touch, if you will, but I am drawn to sites with colorful, beautiful pictures, even if they don’t have a lot of the bells and whistles of other sites. The Cockayne Collection is, as the title indicates, a collection of butterflies and moths of the British Isles, compiled originally by Dr. E.A. Cockayne. Now available to anyone with a Web browser, the Cockayne Collection includes an excellent collection of photographs and an online database that enables users to find desired information relatively easily. I had a few quibbles, such as icons that were illogical (a magnifying glass that lead to a Site Map, instead of enlarging an image) and a sprawling design that needed better organization, but the beautiful images at least partly made up for the deficiencies.
