Strong Points: Focus on science
Weak Points: None
Speaking of environmental problems, RealClimate is an interesting site with a very refreshing point of view. Self-described as “a commentary site on climate science by working climate scientists for the interested public and journalists. We aim to provide a quick response to developing stories and provide the context sometimes missing in mainstream commentary,” RealClimate excels in restricting itself to scientific topics and states that it will not get involved in political or economic implications of the science therein. Bravo. The format of RealClimate is to post an article and then let readers follow up with questions/comments. I particularly liked the lead article at the time I wrote this. It concerned the commonly confused topics of ozone depletion and global warming, which are largely separate topics, though joined in the minds of most people. Worth reading by everyone on both sides of this issue.
