Strong Points: PCR variant info
Weak Points: None

PCR is a commercial-laden site that has a lot to offer. Covering the topic of PCR (“Well, duh”), the site starts simple, mixes it up, and ends strong. On the simple end, visitors can learn basics of the technique, a short history of the method, how to design primers, and also how to troubleshoot and optimize the technique. At the other end, the site provides a considerable amount of information (all in the form of links) about PCR variants, such as AFLP, RACE, real-time PCR, inverse PCR, and long-PCR, among others. This is probably the best collection of information on PCR alternatives I have seen. The commercials are not even annoying, sitting quietly at the top of the page, out of the way. A very useful site.
