Summary:

In order to successfully translate scientific research into benefits for society, it’s crucial that scientists engage with members of the community. The Northwest Association for Biomedical Research (NWABR) is a nonprofit organization with a mission to foster public understanding and trust in scientific research through education and outreach efforts. The NWABR website is an excellent resource for scientists and the general public alike as it provides both information about the organization’s programs and online resources, such as lesson plans. Site visitors can find information about the organization’s areas of emphasis and can read the group’s newsletters on the “about” page of the site, while specifics about upcoming and past events for the community and students can be found on the “events and programs” page. Finally, educators will find a number of resources including full curricula in the “teacher center.”
