MouseLight Neuron Browser, from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Janelia Research Center, is an excellent tool for neuroscientists examining the connectivity of the mouse brain. The website allows users to take an in-depth look at reconstructions of neurons throughout the brain. Users can search for a brain region of interest and tailor their search parameters to include only particular structural features, such as dendrites or axonal end points. Based on the search, the website displays 3D reconstructions of the neurons of interest that users can examine more closely. The website includes a detailed tutorial video and some example searches for users who are new to the site. The website also provides additional information about the project and its methods, as well as a list of publications.
